YOUNG LEADERS AND ADVOCATES NETWORK
NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US
The Young Leaders and Advocates Network is a statewide network run for and by young people with disabilities. YLAN is dedicated to uniting and empowering young people across the state. We ensure young people are authentically and meaningfully involved in all decisions that affect us. Together, we change systems so young people get the support they need with the respect and dignity they deserve.
TAKING ACTION AND CHANGING SYSTEMS
Young people are powerful advocates and leaders. YLAN is dedicated to bringing youth voice to all places where decisions are being made.
YLAN offers training and consultation on a variety of topics including advocacy, leadership, youth-guided practice, and more!
Young people ages 14-30 can sign up to become a member. Members receive the latest news and have the opportunity to participate in various network activities.
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are leaders of today. Together, we can make sure that our voices are heard. Whether it is advocating for yourself, supporting your peers, or changing policies and programs to better meet our needs, YLAN is here to support you and Bring Youth Voice!
Your voice matters. We are seeking your input on what helps and what harms in your communities, the services you receive, and other issues important to young people. Your input will be used to create YLAN’s first annual Priority Agenda and guide our advocacy efforts.
JOIN A STATEWIDE COMMITTEE
YLAN is run for and by young people with disabilities. Join forces with peers across the state to create change, grow our movement, and plan special events. Our statewide committees meet once a month virtually and anyone who is eligible to become a member can join. Whatever your passions and interests may be, we have a place for you on our teams!
